Today is the 1st day of January, the 1st month of the year 2016 of the Gregorian calender. Pope Gregory Xll introduced the calender in 1582 for the convenience of Easter celebration disregarding the daily changing motion of the moon.

Correspondingly today is the 21st day of Rabee ul Awal, the 3rd month of the year 1437 of Hijri calender.

আজ গ্রেগরিয়ান ক্যালেন্ডারের ২০১৬ সালের ১ম মাস জানুয়ারি মাসের ১ম দিবস। ১৫৮২ সালে পোপ গ্রেগরি ‘ইস্টার দিবস’ পালনকে সুবিধাতর করার জন্য এ ক্যালেনন্ডার প্রবর্তন করেন যদিও তা প্রাত্যহিক চাদ রাতের পরিবর্তনকে উপেক্ষা করে।

পক্ষান্তরে আজ ১৪৩৭ হিজরী সনের ৩য় মাস রবিউল আউয়াল মাসের ২১ তারিখ।
